Cinnamon Stars are so delicious and easy to make!
Here's what you'll need to make 30-40:
3 egg whites
1 pinch of salt
250g powdered sugar
1 sachet vanilla sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tsp cocoa powder, to taste
400g ground almonds
Cookie cutters
Baking paperPowdered sugar (for cutting), on a plate
Step 1
Whisk the egg whites and salt until stiff. Sift the icing sugar into a bowl and stir into the beaten egg whites. Put 50g aside. Stir in the vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder and
enough almonds to make the mixture barely sticky.
Step 2
Put the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper, press flat and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 140°C. Roll out the pastry between the sheets of baking paper to about 1cm thick. Cut out the stars. Dip the cutter in icing sugar from time to time to prevent
the dough from sticking. Place the stars on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Using a pastry brush, brush the stars with the reserved egg white mixture. Bake in the lower
half of the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
